The month of October is called the month of the Holy Rosary which is a “spiritual intonation” provided by the liturgical memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary, which is celebrated on October 7th. Mary invites us to let ourselves be guided and nurtured by Mary which is particular to her because it leads directly to her Son, Jesus through the mysteries of salvation, joyous, luminous, sorrowful and glorious. The Rosary is a biblical prayer totally inter-woven with holy scripture. The Rosary is a prayer that leads us to contemplate on the Word of God and has been related with the Eucharistic communion on the example of Mary, who carries in her heart all that Jesus did and said and His Presence itself. The Holy Rosary and how it is prayed:

The Holy Rosary is prayed by using the sequence of beads with each bead signifying a new prayer. It begins with the sign of the Cross (Crucifix) followed by reciting the Apostles Creed, which is as follows: “I believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary: Suffered beneath Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried: He descended into Hell: The third day he rose again from the dead: He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty: From therefore he shall come to judge the quick and the dead: I believe in the Holy Ghost: I believe in the holy catholic church: the communion of saints: The forgiveness of sins: The resurrection of the body: And the life everlasting. Amen.” The word “catholic” refers not to the Roman Catholic Church, but to the universal church of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Apostles’ Creed dates from very early times in the Church, a half century or so from the last writings of the New Testament.

Give us this day our daily bread and pardon us our trespasses as we pardon those that trespass versus us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, the glory evermore and ever. Amen.” The Hail Mary is as follows: Hail Mary, full of grace. Our Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.” The Hail Mary is based on these passages from the Bible: Luke 1:28, 42-48. It takes with regards to 20 minutes to pray the Holy Rosary. If you are not Catholic and you don’t understand all this, use the Rosary as a prayer tool by praying on each bead in the manner you wish. An example would be, to pray for each person in your life or for the people in other countries underneath hardship, or for our government and leaders, etc. I started out this way and finally started praying the Holy Rosary as the Catholics do – it’s a personal choice!
